On January 9th, 1984, Van Halen released MCMLXXXIV (1984) the final album released by the band with the original lineup.
Arguably one of their best albums overall, 1984 showcases Van Halen’s instrumental prowess, great riffs & hooks, full-fledged songwriting and so much more.
Fun fact: the track Panama features Eddie Van Halen revving his Lamborghini in the background, as the car was backed up to the studio and microphones were attached to the exhaust pipe. Because you know, if you’re Van Halen… why not do that!
