Arrive in Nanaimo on Friday evening and check-in to your room at The Grand Hotel Nanaimo. The next morning prepare for a full day of fun! Saturday begins with your choice of a whale
watching tour or a day of fun at WildPlay!
If you choose the whale watching, you’ll spend a full hour viewing whales, and your marine naturalist will provide real-time insights into their behaviors. Onboard catalogues are used to identify individual whales, and this data is collected throughout our whale watching season and sent to the Centre for Whale Research, Keta Coastal Conservation, and the BC Cetacean Sightings Network. After viewing whales, onboard snacks are provided, courtesy of Vancouver Island Whale Watch. Your tour will wrap up with an educational lecture on marine conservation which focuses on BC whales, and conservation initiatives will be discussed.
For our WildPlay enthusiasts your day will consist of the Classic Adventure Course followed by a Zipline Tour!
If you opt for the Catamaran Tour you’ll be treated to a ride on a multi-hulled, rotating, wing-masted cruising catamaran sailboat!
Enjoy a personalized one on one whiskey tasting with the in-house whiskey specialist at the Grand – over 150 different single malts – choose your evening to enjoy this. You’ll also enjoy a breakfast on us each morning at Gabriel’s Cafe, a delicious menu awaits you to start your day off right! After a day full of onboard excitement, it’s time for a hearty dinner!
