The first full week of February has been celebrated as White Cane Week by the Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB) BC Division for 80 years now!
We are celebrating awareness of blind and low vision Canadians all year long but particularly currently.
In the first week of February when you may see a person with a guide dog, or a person with a white cane navigating in our city, pause and reflect what a challenge it would be for you to attempt to do your daily tasks without some or all of your vision.
“A lack of sight is not a lack of Vision” thank you for your awareness, from your CCB BC Yukon Division.
