Fresh off their gig as the house band on the Sunset Strip for Whisky a Go Go, The Doors entered the recording studio for their debut album knowing exactly what they wanted.
What they gave us was a historic debut album, introducing to the world the band’s fusion of rock, blues, classical, jazz, and poetry with a one – two punch.
Serious, stoned, and seductive was their ring leader – Jim Morrison. One of rock’s most magnetic front men, he got under your skin with a penetrating presence of stage and verse that you could never forget. The Doors, for better or worse, lived and died with Jim Morrison.
In their first outing, The Doors gave us a hypnotic, Oedipal, and daring album. One that inspired countless rock acts to come, and holds a resounding place in rock fans hearts.
